So what's all this talk about a 12 Day Master Cleanser? Leave it to a celebrity to popularize something that's been around for decades, I believe Beyonce Knowles is the one who brought this age old cleanse to modern day attention. In fact, I recently heard someone call it The Beyonce Master Cleanser!
While it's become popular to use this cleanse to lose weight, the Lemonade diet master cleanser is more than just a weight loss protocol. It's a detox regiment designed to cleanse the body of harmful waste and increase vitality as well as aid in weight loss and heal dis-ease. You could think of the weight loss as the "cherry on top"-- a side benefit of having a sparkling clean system!
The best thing about the Master Cleanser is that you need very little to set it up and get it going. If you don't have a juicer, this might be a good option for you as the nutrients you will be getting will come straight from the lemons and maple syrup in the recipe with no juicing required.
I should mention that while I've seen many people achieve desirable results on a 12 Day Master Cleanser, it simply does not compare to the energy and vitality I have seen my clients gain from doing a
fresh raw juice fast.
Here's what you will need:
If possible,organic lemons are your best choice. During any type of cleansing your body will be working hard to ridding itself of toxins and impurities. You don't want to make it's job harder by giving it more toxins in the form of pesticides to deal with. Always fresh squeeze your lemons right before you use them. This will ensure you receive the benefit of the maximum amount of cleansing enzymes available in the lemons.
These enzymes are paramount. Think of them as tiny scrub brushes scrubbing your cells clean!
GRADE B MAPLE SYRUP
Pure Grade B Maple Syrup is superior to the lighter Grades in mineral content. Maple syrup, in addition to being delicious, is high in manganese and zinc which combined create wonderful support for a healthy heart among other things. The high nutrient content of maple syrup will supply your body with the nutrition it needs to sustain a powerful cleansing.
WARNING: The only contraindication here would for those who are sugar sensitive. While Maple Syrup is a natural sugar it is still a sugar and diabetics and other sugar sensitive individuals should avoid it completely. I would highly recommend those individuals consider a
and focus mostly on green, chlorophyll rich juices.
The importance of the cayenne pepper here is that it breaks up the mucous in your system. Used for centuries by herbalists to treat a wide variety of conditions, cayenne pepper is renowned for its ability to enhance the circulatory system.
This is exactly what you want during a cleanse as it will allow the toxins to be carried away faster. Think of it like oiling your car. Your cleanse will flow better with the cayenne pepper. (However, if you don't like the taste of it in your lemonade, you can take a capsule before or after you drink. I have done this myself dozens of times with great success.)
It goes without saying that purifying the water that you will be consuming during your cleanse is paramount. We don't want to be putting toxins in when the whole point is to take them out! If you don't have a water purifier in your home now might be the time to invest in one.
This is my way of saying you are going to have to chose a good laxative. With so much "sludge" being deposited into your colon you will want to make sure you keep the "flow" going and are able to eliminate it with ease.
However, I differ from the traditional protocol here in that I am not a fan of herbal laxatives, such as senna, Swiss Kriss or any of the others. These laxatives are all habit forming and can cause cramping and severe abdominal pain, not to mention the fact that they are extremely harsh on your system. I am however a huge fan of an oxygen based cleanser called
which is non-habit forming and many times more effective.
Oxy-Powder slowly releases a nascent form of oxygen into the intestines and comfortably and powerfully dissolves waste matter from the entire digestive system, top to bottom. I can't tell you how much I use this supplement for myself and my clients. It's truly a breakthrough product that makes you light and energetic.
And there you have it! Whether you call it the Beyonce Master Cleanser, The Lemonade Diet Master Cleaner or The 12 Day Master Cleanser, simply squeeze half a lemon into 10 oz. of
2 tablespoons of Grade B Maple Syrup and a pinch of cayenne pepper (about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. or you may substitute capsules).
However, even with as simple of a recipe as the above, I have still found that some of my clients want the added convenience of having everything already prepared to perfection for them. That's when I recommend a product that combines the Master Cleanser with several super fruit extracts.
