Add Some Vegetable Juicing Recipes to your diet and watch your health soar!

Vegetable Juicing Recipes are the healthiest of their kind. We've all seen those infomercials where the old guy talks about how much energy he's gained since he started juicing. But what he's not telling you, is that in order to have super human energy, we must have a super human diet. This is made possible through the power of juicing not only fruits, but (drum roll please) vegetables!

Juicing fruit is very tasty and can be healthy too. But the problem with juicing fruit is that fruit has a much higher sugar content that vegetables so it doesn't cause the spikes in blood sugar that fruit juice can. Vegetable on the other hand are low in sugar AND chock full of the stuff your body needs.

Take spinach for example. When compared to fruit, calorie by calorie, none are as nutrient dense. Spinach is loaded with antioxidants like Vitamin K, C, E, A, B6 and B12. It contains an abundance of minerals such as calcium, potassium and zinc as well as phytonutrients-- the potent substances that have been proven to fight cancer. Among other things, spinach fights the free radicals that cause aging and has been shown to reduce the risk of arthritis, stroke and eye diseases.

Dark green vegetables on the whole contain the most pack for their punch when it come to nutrition. They also absorb many times their weight in toxins and when ingested scrub the cells clean. But how many of us are eating them regularly to be able to make a difference? The miracle of juicing stems from the fact that you can drink a whole lot more vegetable and therefore get a lot more nutrition that you can eating the vegetable whole.

Luckily, vegetables are some of the easiest vegetables to work into a delicious health packed juice!

Create Your Own Vegetable Juicing Recipe

Finding a vegetable juicing recipe you like to drink and can make in a snap is really essential on the road to perfect health. There's nothing worse than spending hard earned money on organic fruits and vegetables only to be left with an undrinkable brown mush!

To make it simple, I'm breaking down the green juice concept to enable you to experiment successfully and find your favorite one to feast on.

To be truly balanced in taste, all juices should consist of 5 flavors. The Five Flavor Principle consists of:

  • sweet
  • sour
  • salty
  • bitter
  • pungent

While this may seem obvious at first, you'll be amazed at how learning this simple structure frees your inner juice mixer! Let's take the following recipe as an example. This is a standard "green juice" that you can use as a base and deviate from using the 5 Flavor Principle.

    Green Dragon

    1 to 2 apples
    1/2 cucumber (peeled unless organic)
    2 stalks celery
    1 large handful of spinach
1/2 inch slice of fresh ginger1 lemon peeled and squeezed1/4 tsp Himalayan or other unrefined sea salt

Here, we have apples for "sweet", cucumbers and a pinch of sea salt for "salty", spinach for "bitter", lemon for "sour" and ginger for "pungent". You can skip the pungent flavor if it doesn't appeal to you, but as time goes by you may find yourself wanting to add it!

Start with this simple juice and see where it takes you. As your health and energy begin to soar you may find yourself feeling adventurous. You might then try something like the following recipe from

From The Juice Fasting Bible by Sandra Cabot

    High Blood Pressure Reducer
    3stalks celery
    1/2 cucumber (peeled unless organic)
    1/2 cup chopped fennel
Optional: 1 sprig onion or 1 clove garlic
    1 apple
    1 orange or 1/2 grapefruit
    1 handful parsley
